Obama prepares for november

Tuesday Kentucky (Clinton will win very easy) and Oregon (Obama will win very easy) will vote. Obama will be in Iowa during the election evening, where he started four mounths ago to get a nomination. The circle is round, the message seems to be. Obama thinks to achieve tuesday a majority of the 'normal' delegates, so he would be able to claim victory. And that all in Iowa, where he started his victory succesion, and which he hopes to get back in november in the Democratic camp.

But: according to political analyst Michael Barone Obama will not get the needed delegates on tuesday, and he just has to wait till the 3th of june (Montana and South Dakota will vote). Between it also Puerto Rico will vote (1 juni). And: a sub commission of the Democratic Party decides if they count Florida and Michigan (31st of may). Enough data to get aware of.

Clinton is still on campaign, but she does not attack Obama anymore that much. It looks like she wants to stop her failed campaign respectable.

Obama is preparing himself for the race against McCain. In Portland (Oregon) he had the biggest audience so far: 75-thousand people. Next week he will visit Florida for three days, a classical swing state where also McCain thinks to have a good chance in november.

John Edwards supports Obama

Amazingly fast the photo appeared on Obama’s website: the candidate next to his new supporter, John Edwards. At january the 30th he quited the election race, and now finally he spoked. Wednesday they appeared togehter on a loud campaign meeting in swing state Michigan. Typical a worker state where Edwards support could help. Obama lobbied really hard for it.

How further? Edwards participated in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina and had 18 delegates. These are free to choose for who wants them. Will they really choose Edwards? Yesterday Edwars won the pre-elections in West Virginia with 7 percent of the votes. For somebody who is already three months out it is a lot. It shows how loyal Edwards supporters are. So it is not said that they will all support Obama, while a lot of campaign members of Edwards did. The same for some big trade unions.

But Edwards’ support is ofcourse very welcome. Not because Obama wants to get rid of Clinton definitely - the race ended already. (Infact it will help: say the 18 delegates will support Obama, then he needs only about 25 delegates to get a majority of the ‘pledged delegates'. This border he will pass probably tuesday, after the elections in Kentucky en Oregon.)

Clinton wins a state again

Hillary smashes Barack Obama in West Virginia: she wins with two-third of the votes. almost never the difference was that big. Within white people Clinton wins with 68 against 28 percent. The victory is probably too late to give her the nomination. West Virginia (28 delegates) is also too small. But: Clinton continues.

These 28 delegates are like usual proportional divided. Perhaps Clinton will get 10 delegates closer to Obama. But he will still lead with 150 delegates. But though: Obama called Clinton to congratulate her (on her voice-mail actually.) Obama was tuesday evening in Missouri - they voted already overthere, but in november it is probably a a swing state. Wednesday Obama will be in Michigan, also that kind of state. It is clear: he is focussing more and more on november. More Significant than Clintons victory in West Virginia: a third lost in short time for the Republican Party. This time a seat in the Chamber of Deputies according to the state Mississippi. Since 1994 it was a Republican state. Now not anymore. For who still doubted about the comatose position of the party.

Sebelius, the new running mate of Obama?

Pronouncing without a hitch please: Obama-Sebelius. Admit: It sounds way more exotic than Bush-Cheney or Kerry-Edwards. Kathleen Sebelius is the governor of Kansas, and in several sources she gets high credits to be the possible running mate of Barack Obama. Plus: a preliminary on Obama vs McCain.
Sebelius would help solving Obama’s problems with white women - and she is amazingly popular as a governor in one of those Republican states which Obama thinks to be able to convert. There will be passing a lot of other names, but watch the name of Sebelius. Maybe she will become the second woman on a presedential ticket - with in that case a better overlook on the White House than the first one, Geraldine Ferraro as running mate of Mondale in 1984.

What kind of election battle is expected in the autumn in America? There are two possibilities.

Possibility one: Obama and McCain keep their promise to do another kind of campaign. Cleaner and more about the content. Exciting is the idea McCain promoted, which was accepted by Obama enthousiastic: the two candidates which travel together across the country for a serie of meetings with voters. In the autumn the traditional debates will take place, but during the 'townhall meetings’ which McCain is promoting now, direct contact with the voter has to be an important fact. 150 years ago something comparable took place: seven debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas, which fighted for a Senate seat for Illinois. Candidate 1 speaks an hour, then candidate 2 one and a half hour, then candidate 1 another hour. Afterwards there is time for questions from the audience. So an unconventional way.

Possibility two: It will become a ‘Swift Boating times five.’ Away with the election romance from above: Finally all the good meaning will die in the hard fight for power. The verb ’swift boating’ became standard politic jargon in 2004. The Republicans were doubting the war history of John Kerry, with help of the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth, an obscure veteran club which said that Kerry as a boat commandant on the Mekong Delta was not that kind of heroes as he said. Really bad - and that five times, this autumn, as we have to believe the McCain-advisor. From both side, he adds (ofcourse). And the inventor of the famous Willy Horton -spot from 1988 (which used George H. Bush to defeat his opponent Dukakis like soft on crime-liberal) makes himself feel good in the same article about the following fight: “I feel like a child in a candy store.”

After some problems arised during the elections in Florida/Michigan, when there had not even been Obama´s name on the ballot. It is obvious that there will be always starnge things happening in the American Elections, you just have to remind about Buch´s dubious win 8 years ago. Now, solutions are searched hard.

Clinton herself sent a letter to Obama with the request of a "fair and quick resolution" to the above mentioned problem.

"Dear Senator Obama,
This has been an historic and exciting campaign. Millions of new voters have been brought into the process and their enthusiasm for the Democratic Party and the principles for which you and I have fought and continue to fight is unprecedented.

One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted. That principle is not currently being applied to the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in primaries in Florida and Michigan. Whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be hamstrung in the general election if a fair and quick resolution is not reached that ensures that the voices of these voters are heard. Our commitment now to this goal could be the difference between winning and losing in November.

I have consistently said that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan in January should be counted. We cannot ignore the fact that the people in those states took the time to be a part of this process and to make their preferences known. When efforts were untaken by leaders in those states to hold revotes to ensure that they had a voice in selecting our nominee, I supported those efforts. In Michigan, I supported a legislative effort to hold a revote that the Democratic National Committee said was in complete compliance with the party's rules. A few days ago the Michigan Democrats decided about a fair and quick solution to the problem:
giving Clinton 69 delegates (4 less than she would have when winning), Obama 59 delegates (although admitting that his name was not on the ballot).
Everybody is agreeing, actually the co-chairman of Clinton´s Michigan Campeign, but nevertheless Clinton does not unless she will be given the full amount of delegates she gained from the January primary. Just that primary where Obama´s name was missing on the ballot.

Yesterday it was celebrated the Five of May, the date that commemorates the battle of Puebla, in that the Mexican army defeated to the French troops. In The United States it is one day that the Hispanic community celebrates with special interest. Coinciding with it, the republican candidate John McCain launched his web page in Spanish, in which there can be seen several testimonies of some Hispanic politicians showing their support to the senator of Arizona: Mel Martinez, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Mario Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

Five of May celebrated also in the White House a receipt to which there come the representatives of the political, managerial, social and cultural Hispanic area. In fact, yesterday there came the singer Shaila Dúrcal, who was recognized like " Mexican of heart ".

The next elections are in Indiana. Who is going to win these elections, Clinton or Obama?

Every Indiana habitant knows the movie 'Hoosiers'. One of the best sport films. A movie about a basketball coach who is trying to be champion of Indiana with a bunch of losers. And they win.
Clinton was talking about this movie in her speech and said that nothing is impossible. It seems like she is trying to encourage herself. She already thinks she will loose?

Well the new polls say that Obama survived the speeches of Mr Wright. 50 percent chooses Obama and 38 percent chooses Clinton.

Furthermore the last days there were some fights about the 'gas tax break'. Clinton and McCain want a temporary reduction of the gas taxes, in connection with the high gas price. That temporary reduction should last the whole summer. Obama -and many economists with him think this proposal is a political stunt, which doesn't solve the real problem (the 'addiction' of foreign oil). Obama took a risk with his fundamental statement, but the voter agrees with him. And at this moment there is nothing more concerning the American population then the high gas price.

So let's wait for the elections!

Obama´s double-digit lead among Democratic voters has been reduced by more than half after the primary win in Pennsylvania.
His own "bitter" remarks and the never ending controversies over Rev. Wright´s comments are resulting in the sliping of Obama´s favourability.

It is only eight points, which are between both candidates, one week ago it had been 19. Obama is currently leading 46 percent to 38.

The important issue now becomes money:
Does Clinton have it or does Obama lose it quickly?

Matter of fact, Obama´s decreasing lead and the changing of news media from “Hillary Clinton without any chance” to “Hillary Clinton could actually be nominated”, are bad news for Obama´s campeign.

Right now his campeign is very defensive, which has to be changed as soon as possible.
Have a look at those developments:

1. His opponent Clinton has invited Obama to a Lincoln-Douglas style debate, which is without any moderators. As Obama has rarely won in any debates, he is simply not agreeing, moreover he is refusing to participate.
2. Clinton´s campeign is taking advantage of Bill Clinton, since he has pushed the campeign to go negative and fast.
3. Obama will go on Fox News, which is not the best idea, as he is probably not completely aware of what he will be facing on Fox News.

What is needed to call Obama´s campeign not a defensive one? Well, lots of air time and communicate that his campaign is not just defensive.

Hillary's last minute spot to swing the latebreaking undecideds, which includes a short appearance by Osama Bin Laden, causes much tumult.
Obama is not mentioned, nervertheless, the economical and ecological crisis, combined with the slogan "who do you think has what it takes," are clearly designed to burst lastminute doubts about Obama's capability to become president, same story with the well known "red phone" ad.
But there are discrepancies... somehow.

For years Democrats have condemned any trials by the White House to use bin Laden images to suggest that Democrats are soft on terrorism. But now a Democrat does just that — and there is silence from many Democrats.
Well then?
In 2004 Bill Clinton stated: "Now one of Clinton's Laws of Politics is this: If one candidate's trying to scare you and the other one's trying to get you to think; if one candidate's appealing to your fears and the other one's appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope. That's the best."
The Obama campaign is already out with a response: It's directing folks to this Bill Clinton saying. And the new strategist claims that there is nothing bad about this ad.

A stupid mistake of uncontrolled Bill Clinton, hated by Hillary’s campaign team gave Bosnian-debacle a second life. That seemed the election news in the US dominating the weekend. It went differently. Judgements of Barack Obama during fundraiser in San Francisco Friday evening CNN were raised to `Breaking News. The newspaper ‘Politico’ even speaks of a possible change in the race, and states that `Bittergate‘ can give Obama damage sometimes more than its controversial minister.

What has happened?

Last week Sunday, the 6th of April, kept Obama fundraiser in San Francisco. For public of donors he looked ahead to the pre-elections in Pennsylvania on 22 April. The meeting was not accessible for the press, but by means of Huffington Post leak a sound prerecording. Concerning the voters in Pennsylvania, where the last years many factories are closed:

But Obama does not seem to get away. Also after its excuses to everyone who felt himself offended, the storm is still there. For Clinton, who saw Obama coming closer in the race for Pennsylvania, this was a big chance to win the pre-elections. And probably she looks ahead even further - for example to Indiana, also already a `working state’, where they will vote the 6th of May. Clinton reminded in that state the voters today how when she was a young little girl learned to shoot from her father, and how religion has influenced her life when she was young. In short: she likes however, ‘Guns & God’.

The Sunday evening gave accidentally a CNN-forum discussion about Pennsylvania on the programme, with religion as the topic. Clinton and Obama were debating, but kept both the word. Obama took the occasion for `damage control.

For me this accords two truths.

Will there be a democratic future? If so, this will be my suggestion.

Obama will be the new president of the United States and Hillary Clinton will be the vice-president. Obama is a good leader with really good thoughts about changing the world. Clinton is on the other side a really smart woman. She knows a lot about politics, which will make a good combination. Al Gore will also work for Obama, what he already said, to help him with making the world more ecological.

With Obama in the lead, the oil-based war in Iraq will finally end. The taxes in the US will increase, which can make the insurances better. The country will get a more healthy status and many lives will be saved.

The criminality is now on a high level. It is legal to have weapons at your home. It is clear, it is you only need the weapon for making problems and not to protect yourself. Owners of shops have a gun to protect when somebody is robbing the store with.......a gun. So if there are no weapons, it can really save lifes. You can see it in Europe, where the criminality is not that high as in America.

Interesting enough a few years ago none of the Americans doubted that the US-Dollar would start crashing or even collapsing. But due to Bush-policy, which means war in Irag and Afghanistan (trillon dollars), which also means taxcuts for the wealthiest Americans, the US has now no other possibility than to take credits from foreign countries in order to keep their economy going.

The Americans begin to recognize what is happening around them and that they are now in the worst economic situation since WorldWar 2. Consequently the economic crisis is an extremly hot issue to be discussed and solved for American Politicians, since the US´s population is worried, too.

But who is the one to be trusted? Who is the one to lead America out of this situation?

Firstly, there is McCain of the Republican Party. As we all know, Bush is also a Republican and has done a lot of mistakes, of wrong decisions. Moreover, McCain is an expert concerning war-tactics but does not know a little thing about economy. Anyway, I do not think that McCain is worth even to talk about. The people are fed up with Bush-politics.

Secondly, there is the Democratic Party which members are Obama and Clinton.

Unfortunately, the only thing I could make out of Obama´s speech was: McCain is very bad, Bush is very bad, the recent years have been very bad and he is the one to do everything better. I am very sorry for this to say, but Obama did not convince me at all.

The staff of Clinton needs a lot of work to fix Clinton's big mistake. At a campaign congress Clinton told an exciting story about her terrifying experience in Bosnia. She said she had to run for her life to avoid the snipers.
Unluckily for her the occured tv images tell something else. She walked calm out of her plane and talked with some Bosnian people. Clinton admitted her lie.
For me this a killing mistake. She makes her stories bigger to show the people she is a tough woman. A way to get more votes. Now it is a pathetic and manupulative lie. This shows you can't be a president of the most powerful country of the world. This makes the chance even bigger for Obama to win the elections.

I have been following the American Elections for three weeks now. And I am afraid, somehow it does not make much sense for me: voting for one candidate and not for a party.
How is it possible that there are thousands of dollars spent, in order to make one candidate more popular than the other, although they are both of the same party.
Would it not be more efficient to collaborate instead of fighting each other? Just take into account the worsen american economical situation.

What is it all about, if Obama´s middlename is Hussein, which statements his former pastor Wright made, if Obama is partly white. Who wants to know about his mother?
I am really not able to make up my mind.
Who cares if Clinton has already been the First Lady of the US and now wants to become president. What is so wrong about being a woman and govern a country?

Last friday (7th of March) Tony Dokoupil put an interesting report on Newsweek Web Exclusive about the disunity among democratic voters.

According to the latest poll, which was based on telephone interviews with 1,215 registered voters March 5-6, Obama is the favored nominee among 45 percent of Democrats, compared with 44 percent for Clinton.

The poll also found that Democratic voters are ready to rally around the candidate they trust most to improve the economy, amid fears of a recession. But neither candidate has been able to lock up that issue, or many others, and the vast majority (69 percent) of Democratic voters now leave aside the crucial question of who runs on top.

So what is important for the Democratic voters?

Clinton has won 'Crucial Tuesday', but she has still less delegates than Obama. So has she really won it? She was lucky the media didn't gave up on her. For the first time Clinton was attacking Obama. The media joined her. Now Obama wants to fight back. And I think it's going to work.

Since You know that in America there are only two huge parties to vote for, Democrats or Republicans, you do not have any choice. Either beeing a Democrat and voting for Clinton or Obama or beeing a Republican and voting for Huckabee, McCain or Paul.

There is no doubt in the fact, that one candidate of the Democratic Party will win the elections:

a white woman or an African-American man.

After eight years of George W. Bush's impotence to rule (a Republican to say there has not been any evolution on our planet, a man to go into war with Iraq and Afghanistan in the name of God and not even accepting God's represantative Pope John Paul II wish not to do so) it seems as if everything would be possible in the present American Election.

In my oppinion it is a great relieve to know that finally intelligent people will govern the United States of America again, the Democrats.

It is open to say wheter Clinton will win or Obama. I think it would be interesting a woman governing the States. But probably Obama will win.

Nervertheless I want to repeat myslef: they are Democrats, so for the world's nations there will be no worse disadvantage. We are looking forward!
